Eating out in Spain means excellent food at great prices, particularly Menu del Dia (Menu of the Day) which usually includes wine. Many restaurants are placed along the seafront so while you are enjoying your delicious food and inexpensive local wines you can watch the world go by.

In the ports the fish markets open as the boats come in and unload their catches, whilst in the towns markets are plentiful. The bargains to be had in good quality leather goods - shoes, bags and briefcases - and ceramics are excellent. Many visitors return home wishing they had more space in their luggage. Each town has its own market so if you miss one you can find another close by on another morning. Some markets include a fascinating variety of new and second-hand goods. A visit to one of these is a must for the bargain hunter.

Throughout the year and the region there are many fiestas, carnivals and celebratory occasions of music dancing, running of the bulls and frequently accompanied by stupendous firework displays.

Local sports include golf, fishing, walking, cycling, climbing, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet ski, wind-surfing, sailing, waterskiing, go-karting, horseriding, tennis, minigolf ten-pins & lawn bowling, netball, football, basketball, etc.

As well as Terra Mitica, there is Aqualandia Water Park and Mundomar Sea World, all near Benidorn. Two safari parks are nearby while their antithisis, bull fighting, is also here to be experienced.
